Ikaroa is one of the eight rohe of the League and covers the lower North Island from Ahuriri (Napier) and along the southeast to Porangahau and further to Wairarapa, across to Te Whanganui a Tara, and north to Rangitikei including Kapiti, Horowhenua, and Manawatu:

Ikaroa traditionally has the most number of branches (peka) of any rohe of the League including Ahuriri, Flaxmere, Waipatu Karamu, Porangahau, Wairarapa, Te Peka o Ruamahanga, Ngāti Toa, Ngakau Kōtahi, Pito-one, Nga Wāhine Whakamanawanui, Te Ropu Whakawhaiti, Kokiri, Te Ropu Wahine Maori Toko I te Ora ki Wainuiomata, Te Whanga o Titahi, Te Puna Wai o Kapiti, Taitoko, Te Awahou, Taitoko, Te Kauwhata, Rangitane o Manawatu, Ngā Hau e Whā.
